You need to be fully aware of your role and responsibilities within the organisation or hospital you are working for, before you sign any agreement or contract. The laws regulating nursing practice vary in different countries, and you may find you are expected to perform tasks for which you have no training in the UK. (This may apply in particular to nursing on expeditions). Conversely, tasks normally performed by nurses in the UK may be undertaken by doctors in other countries.
Any queries you have regarding your role in respect of the Code when nursing abroad should be made to the UKCC or members can contact the RCN.
